It is important to remember that applique and traditional stitched flags are not the same as digitally embroidered.

Digitally embroidered flags look as follows and is not a service we offer when making flags. 

Digital embroidery on textile items is only ever one-sided (front facing) and more suitable for clothing and framed items as the technique has a paper backing which is usually left on to stabilise the fabric and design.  Flags are two-sided and although two panels can be embroidered and stitched back to back, this would result in a centre centric and centre heavy flag which would not easily fly and when hung / draped as a gonfalon would pucker the ground fabric.
