Each flag collage is a unique artwork made from flags, textiles and symbolic materials that tell a story — of an event, a place, a person or a legacy. Every piece is individually created by us using traditional appliqué techniques combined with modern digital print and stitch.

We transform flags, emblems and imagery into one-of-a-kind wall pieces and banners that capture meaning, movement and history in fabric.

Flag collage

A flag collage brings together authentic flag materials, reclaimed textiles, printed photographs, badges, and motifs to create a single expressive composition.

We use a combination of:

Hand-cut appliqué and stitched detail

• Digitally reproduced photographs and artwork printed to textile and overstitched for texture

• Layered symbolic fabrics — from silk and cotton to weathered bunting and ceremonial canvas

…each piece becomes both an artwork and a tactile document of the story it represents.

Commission a flag collage

No two collages are ever the same. Some celebrate national or civic moments; others commemorate family, heritage, or a group's journey.

You might choose to:

• Honour a historic event or anniversary

• Commemorate a loved one, veteran, or achievement

• Capture the spirit of a town, community, or festival

• Create an art installation or statement wall hanging

We work from your ideas, imagery or materials (old flags, photographs, badges, etc.) to design and hand-make your collage in our social-enterprise studio. Each commission is sent to you with a certificate of authenticity and can be framed or finished as a hanging banner.

For example - here is a basic example and starting point. To this we would overstitch scraps of fabrics, add in stitched freehand writing of relevant text, layer mementos and various bits and bobs relevant to the project to build up a final piece which resembles a story board which can then be framed. Whatever needs to be included, you send it to us and we will use as much as we can to build a beautiful collage for display.
