Custom silk banners for Kaeserberg miniature railway, Switzerland
We brought to life the designs of the Pentagram Design studio in London, creating lightweight 100% pure mulberry silk printed banners for the permanent display at the Kaeserberg Miniature Railway exhibition in Switzerland. This project took eight months from concept to installation.
Each banner was printed with Ecotex inks and treated with UV and fire retardant processes to comply with the strict Swiss Health and Safety regulations and each of the eleven banners (some measuring up to three metres in length) was hand-stitched and finished with a top and bottom open ended sleeve through which a lightweight wood dowelling rod was inserted to stabilise the drop of each banner, eliminating the fabric curl.
