The brief was to create 'handmade' banners using natural fabrics using a digitally designed image as the basis for the design, so from a pc screen to huge banner format!  The measurements were specific and the banner base was constructed using four base panels stitched together, then built up with hand stitched fabrics - velvet and satin ribbons, vintage pure woven wool, silk and linen and more - to create an unexpected texture. The banners took in the region of five weeks to create from start to finish.
